Paris Hilton is back on the market after splitting with her boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.

The heiress has been dating The Hills star since Christmas (08) and has publicly declared her love for him several times, calling him her “best friend” and “future husband”.

But the romance is over and the couple has called off its relationship.

A spokesperson for Hilton tells People.com, “In response to the enquiry on whether Paris Hilton has split up with Doug Reinhardt, yes, this is true they are no longer together.

“They remain friends and ask that you please respect their privacy.”

The announcement comes a day after Hilton insisted her boyfriend was “hotter” than Brad Pitt during an appearance on U.S. late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In recent years, the fussy socialite has dated rocker Benji Madden, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, pop star Nick Carter and Pamela Anderson’s ex-husband Rick Solomon, who famously appeared alongside the party queen in her infamous sex tape footage.

Britney Spears is reportedly dating her agent Jason Trawick, People magazine reports. The 27-year-old pop princess recently took a vacation in the Bahamas with her sons, Sean Preston, 3 and Jayden, 2.

“They are totally and definitely dating,” a source told People. “Her dad loves him. He’s the best thing that happened to her.” The singer is said to have “always had a crush” on Trawick, who is one of her brother Bryan’s best friends. “They’re very sweet together,” the source said. “He makes Britney really happy and he’s great with the boys.”

Actor James Franco says he has dropped a plan to give a commencement speech at the University of California, Los Angeles, a move that may have been prompted by pressure from students.

Franco issued a statement saying he canceled his June 12 appearance because of conflicts with preproduction demands for his next film.

However, the “Pineapple Express” star had been the object of opposition from students who said he was not the right fit for the commencement speech.

“The problem with him as a speaker comes down to the fact he was a peer for so many of us,” UCLA senior Erin Moore said. “He was in our class. He’s not a role model. And he hasn’t had time to accomplish anything with his degree.”

Franco, 31, enrolled at UCLA in 1996 and graduated last year with a degree in creative writing. He would have been the youngest person and most recent graduate to deliver a commencement speech at UCLA.

Soon after the commencement announcement in March, Moore set up a Facebook page called “UCLA Students Against James Franco as Commencement Speaker.” Hundreds joined, and Moore estimated about 80 percent of them are UCLA students.

Representatives of Franco and UCLA did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment early Saturday.

Franco is perhaps best known for his supporting role in the “Spider-Man” films.

He is preparing for the comedy “Your Highness,” which is set to begin filming next month. Amanda Lundberg, a spokeswoman for the producer of the film, said Franco would be on the set in Ireland on June 12.

UCLA officials have yet to announce a replacement.

Brandy Norwood, who won a Grammy for the song The Boy is Mine, settled with the two children whose mother died in the pop singer’s 2006 car accident.

According to TMZ.com, court papers filed today in Los Angeles County Superior Court state the two children of Awatef Aboudihaj will receive $300,000 each from the singer/actress.

However, Awaref’s husband Marouane Hdidou has not reportedly settled with Norwood since rejecting the $1.2 million settlement that was offered in February.

Los Angeles police did not charge Norwood with any crime associated with the car accident and had stated there was “insufficient evidence” that the singer had committed vehicular manslaughter.

In December 2006, Norwood’s Land Rover reportedly struck another vehicle on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles, which subsequently caused a four-car pileup.

“It was a situation that changed my life forever,” Norwood said in the past about the accident.

Recently, it was reported that the singer signed a new management deal with rapper Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label and has started work on a sixth album for Epic. The album is expected to be released this fall.

The rock legend Jimi Hendrix was murdered by his manager, who stood to collect millions of dollars on the star’s life insurance policy, a former roadie has claimed in a new book.

James “Tappy” Wright says that Hendrix’s manager, Michael Jeffrey, drunkenly confessed to killing him by stuffing pills into his mouth and washing them down with several bottles of red wine because he feared Hendrix intended to dump him for a new manager, according to a report in the Mail on Sunday.

In his book, Rock Roadie, Mr Wright says Jeffrey told him in 1971 that Hendrix had been “worth more to him dead than alive” as he had taken out a life insurance policy on the musician worth $2m (about £1.2m at the time), with himself as the beneficiary. Two years later, Jeffrey was killed in a plane crash.

Hendrix died in September 1970, aged 27. An ambulance crew found his body in the Samarkand Hotel, west London, in the room of a woman called Monika Dannemann, whom he had known for only a few days.
Hendrix was alone in the room, lying on his back, with the gas fire on and the door open. There was no record of who had called the ambulance. His inquest recorded the cause of his death as barbiturate intoxication and inhalation of vomit, and recorded an open verdict.

Never one to shy away from the cameras, Paris Hilton ventured out for a swimsuit photo shoot in Malibu on Saturday afternoon (May 30).

Sporting a sexy white bathing suit, the hotel heiress struck a few sexy poses for the camera during the course of her midday work session.

Meanwhile, Miss Hilton seems to have ruffled a few feathers with her comments about “The Hills” being “fake and lame”.

Since that time, cast member Stephanie Pratt replied, “Doug’s not even on the show, so I don’t even understand that. And in real life he is friends with those boys, so it’s not fake. I would never call her show dumb, so I think she should apologize.”

Robert Pattinson attended a charity event for Sharon Stone called, the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2009 Cocktail Party. At the event Stone auctions items off to raise money for the charity. Numerous celebrities joined in the event including Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger, Josh Hartnett — who all were on stage to help make the items look more appealing.

However, it was Pattinson that is hitting the headlines. Numerous reports are saying that Pattinson didn’t even know he was going to be auctioned off — that it was all last minute. Either way he went on stage so that Stone could auction off a meet and greet, as well as, a kiss from the vampire star.

Kim Kardashian is one of Hollywood’s sexiest stars, but ask the sultry reality gal what she thinks is sexy and you might be surprised — it’s working up a sweat.

“I definitely think that just being confident is being sexy so personally when I’m in shape I feel the sexiest,” Kardashian added. “It’s always about me getting in the gym and staying with it and staying motivated. It’s also from within; you should feel sexy when you wake up in the morning. You’ve just got to stick to your workout regime; so many people start and then stop.”

The queen of curves does look pretty perfect these days, but she says there is still room for improvement.

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament was mugged outside an Atlanta studio where the band is recording, police said.

Three masked men dressed mostly in black came out of the woods behind Southern Tracks recording studio and attacked Ament and employee Mark Anthony Smith as they arrived in a rented Jeep late last month, DeKalb County police said.

Police say the men smashed three of the Jeep’s windows and grabbed a Blackberry and two computers and demanded money. Ament jumped out of the passenger side and tried to run, but one of the men knocked him to the ground and stole his passport.

The men got away with $3,000 cash, along with computers and other equipment worth more than $4,000. Paramedics treated Ament for head injuries.

Surveillance cameras recorded the incident but no one has been arrested.

Pearl Jam management had no comment Thursday.
